“Hi Gavin.
I just wanted to say a massive thank you for your excellent podcast show! I am a paraglider pilot from the Isle of Wight which is a small Island at the South of England.
I have been flying since 1996, but only recently in the last few years I've started to fly cross-country and (partly because of your show) have become more hungry than ever for more of what Cedar Wright says, “Sky Crack”.
Anyway, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your podcasts and everything that you and your team do to make them possible. On behalf of the flying community here in England, I thank you for the encouragement, knowledge, passion, safety awareness, and mentorship that you are providing and of course this includes all the pilots you have interviewed. I also love your choice of music on the podcasts and find that you are very easy to listen to.
I have listened to every one of the podcasts, actually most of them twice. I find it so useful and so awe-inspiring that I wanted to send you an email and just to say that I feel like I have benefited so massively by listening to the podcasts, and whether the listener is a beginner, or a 50 hours pilot or even and experienced pilot, there always so much more to learn. Of course, like you said, this is one of the great things about our amazing sport, is that we will never stop learning and progressing. There is always so much more to learn, and we are learning so much from the stories and interviews and from you as well, giving insights and valuable knowledge!
My passion is defiantly for cross-country and although my personal best is only 150 kilometres, I feel so inspired by listening to stories such as Larry Tudor and many others about how they flew so far and not just far, but taped into an almost supernatural realm (Larry Tudor’s premonition dream). I can't help but think that is something magical about our sport and what you do on your show is bring it alive and make it known and accessible to the world. You are also showing us that there is a difference between just being a paraglider / hanglider pilot or being a professional and passionate paraglider / hanglider pilot - which is what you are, and what you are showing us by example.
Thank you so much!”Read full review »

“Living in Singapore/Malaysia the past 18 years we don't meet many para-adventurers! I've had plenty of long flights over the years, but found myself in a bit of a rut. After listening to Gavin's podcasts starting about a year ago, I got myself back to turkey for another SIV (last one...”Read full review »

““I purposely said no, not right now. I'm doing my thing. Part of that is just learning to not be shy. You know, you don't want to forget to clip in. So all these little things that really add up to: bringing it. By the time you're in the air you've done all this stuff beforehand....”Read full review »
