Stumbling block
I was surprised that there was no mention of the oppression of white slaves or even that whites had been slaves as well. Those individuals did not become a victim of circumstance 200 years after the fact. They, particularly the Irish, rose above such plight. All of the bias presented just goes to show how now much of a stumbling block and hindrance one's own race can be. Own it, be proud of who you are, but by no means make others feel guilty about their own racial makeup. As with anything else, if your sole identity as a person becomes your race, you will never be truly satisfied in life. Be thankful and grateful for the other parts that make up who you are too (talents, skills, hobbies, interests, tastes, etc). YOU ARE NOT JUST A RACE, YOU ARE A WHOLE PERSON.Read full review »
