Hmmmmm
This podcast is so pro-religious in its glorifying of the sort of overly fanatic Mom and its bent toward trying to make us think the perp was ok if he “stayed on the straight and narrow path.” The guy is a creep, and part of it stems FROM his religiosity. There is NO one likable so far. Even the ex-girlfriend is pretty empty of insight. So far, the intensity/weirdness of the perp should have kept her out of the relationship to begin with; she offers no insight or evidence of anything different from that, which gives her anything to add to the story. Just a visit to her and her (now) husband’s home, where they basically gossip after the fact. Yeah, perp is a weirdo. But as far as I can tell, their last visit with him (to pick up her things) was so anti-climatic. Why such a dramatic approach? Not sure I’ll continue. I was pretty sure I noticed a pro-LDS and pro-religious bent. Now I see from some other reviews that I was correct. So far I see nothing “chilling.” Just a lot of provincial attitudes from some real provincial folks about one of their very creepy guys, obsessed with his religious views on women, purity. Wondering why he isn’t “liked.”

Poorly written, bad narration, and wickedly stupid conclusions drawn. I'll stick with the king of narration Dan Carlin.Read full review »

I have been following this story here in Utah and I thought I knew pretty much everything about the case. Episode one blew that notion right out of the water. It kicks right off with audio journals from Josh! What?!? How much stuff is there that the public didn’t know about????
