“Hey guys, interstate (ish) listener here, I’m from QLD but at uni in Cooranbong NSW, (no, no-one else knows where it is either), the land of Weet-Bix factories and speed bumps, and also a large population of animals somewhere between sheep and goat (the ‘shoats'). I think our uni (Avondale College) wins the prize for speed bumps: it’s at the end of a private road which also contains a retirement village, nursing home and unfortunately/conveniently placed cemetery. Sometimes the old people lose their marbles and walk aimlessly down the middle of the road; admin was worried that we’d hit them so they sneakily installed 7 Everest-like speed bumps along a 1km stretch of road over mid-semester break this year. It hasn’t stopped the oldies tearing down the middle of the road... So definitely count a Cooranbong listener as a win. Also, I was wondering - what’s the story behind the name?”Read full review »
