I was so sorry when I came to the end of the last episode. Such a human story, beautifully told. I wish all of the people in this story peace and comfort.

Such a beautifully executed podcast! Voices are clear, easy to understand and relate to. The energy throughout the podcast is calm yet earnest. My heart felt heavy throughout, but I could not stop listening.

I am a podcast junkie. I’m so addicted to my podcasts I’ve basically given up tv. This podcast however is one of the most authentic, interesting and the host is fabulous. I laughed cried and then felt the love. Thank you for the hard work putting this podcast together. I binged this in a few...Read full review »

This was an amazing podcast and story. I was very distracted though by the invasive contrived music playing throughout most of the episodes.

This was a great story but the 4 first episodes could have been one. A little more things unravelled by the end, but this whole story could have been summed up in a hour. Despite all of that, I was invested and still wanted to know the end.

Five star for the episodes themselves. Minus stars for the gambling/lottery ads. I found the story and the telling of it well done and interesting. But CBC, please stop playing all the gambling/lottery ads. You are promoting a very harmful activity.

This story reminds us we are all perpetually a dice roll away from cruel & twisted fate. My heart goes out to those 4 & their families in this brilliantly executed podcast.

I loved listening to this story and how all the characters came together. I hope the best for all of them. Very well told.

I have been recommending this podcast to everyone I know. Although the past can’t be changed, it’s important that we bare witness to what these families are going through.

As a Canadian Adoptee with a wild adoption story that spans from one to coast of Canada to the other I absolutely love this podcast!

This story is a bit tangly, as we say in NL! The alliteration of Clifford, Clarence & Craig is a bit off-putting at first. I could keep it straight because I know that Avery is a common name in Hillview and Hynes is common in St. Bernard’s. Remember tgat and you’ll be best kind. If you’re...Read full review »

I thought this was a great story that was well told. Quinton’s pacing is slow and deliberate, which was initially a little frustrating but I came to appreciate it to relate to the impacts from the internal earthquakes the main characters experience. The detail and description truly capture...Read full review »

Amazing and compelling story! It could be a movie but people would say that the movie was too contrived. Hard to believe this all truly happened! Love the story telling, the personal reflections of those involved and all the details. I feel like I’m watching a movie as I listen.

Very well done. Thank you.

A very thoughtful and touching podcast. My eyes welled up so many times with emotion for these families. My heart broke for the daughter whose mother declared she had found her real daughter. I hope her mother hears her pain. I hope the province does something. Thank you for sharing.

I'm lost for who is who at every turn as the journalist telling the story doesn't clarify who is speaking frequent enough- I'm far enough in that I wish he would talk about how these supposed twins were even separated at all. I want to like this but I honestly lost.Read full review »

What a beautifully executed podcast. The host is so thoughtful and gentle… such a soothing voice. I could hardly bear how sad and frustrating the storyline was. I hope all those people find peace. I feel like I’ll think about them for a long time. Also? Those beautiful accents were a surprising...Read full review »

Thanks for sharing these families’ stories.

How about you wait until all the episodes are available to listen to before you go luring people to come listen to the show. I can remember it long enough to wait 3 weeks to get to the ending.
Tammyfaw via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/15/24
Great storytelling but 3 main characters named Clarence, Clifford and Craig? This plus the way the narrator jumps around without much explaination. Not the easiest to follow…

The story is really intriguing and quality of podcast is amazing but I swear you hear the same lines over and over. The story moves very slowly. I had to stop listening mid episode on episode 3 because it was the same exact comments the whole time about how similar the two looked like each other...Read full review »

Bummed I didn’t notice only the first half is free. I was enjoying the episodes, and I didn’t see the second half is for subscribers only. Will the other ones become free at some point? The show is very entertaining and pulled me right in. Hoping I’ll be able to hear the rest soon!
A.j.christensen via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/13/24
The first four episodes were terrific. From listening to the podcast and reading the notes I understand that the story extends beyond these two families. But the last three episodes are subscription only. I can’t justify getting a subscription for rhree episodes of any podcast. So, thank you!!

American listener- so happy to stumble across this series- such a gripping, well produced human interest story. Thankful to both families for sharing it with us. Also enjoyed learning about Newfoundland and hearing the local dialects. The best type of podcast!
ownrhtodowgwvr via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/12/24
This is an incredibly interesting story! You can just picture the families. Their ups and downs with this life changing event. Their lives that they lost out on living and knowing family members.

I’m in the U.K., and while the Newfoundland accents can be slightly tricky, Luke (the host) dives in to ‘translate’. I was hooked from the beginning, mostly because the host’s voice is such easy listening. Then when you realise what’s actually happening, your heartstrings are pulled so much that...Read full review »
