Like mac n cheese in the dead of winter—just what I needed!
I discovered Comfort Food at almost the same moment I was bowled over by morning sickness for the first time. This is my first pregnancy, and while I knew nausea could be a part of it, I never guessed that most of my favorite foods would become utterly repulsive to me overnight. Even now that I can eat (almost) normally again in my second trimester, going through this process—now with my body changing so rapidly week by week—has brought up a lot a lot of thoughts and feelings about food that I thought I had long since put to bed. Not only does this podcast help me think through what’s coming next when the baby shows up, inspiring several good conversations between my husband and I about baby-led weaning, division of responsibilities, etc, but it also helps me, right now. It has been a long road in my life to get to the point of eating healthily (that is eating without guilt, what I’m hungry for, when I am hungry), and hearing those values articulated clearly—and backed up by research!—as a cohesive alternative to diet culture, has been incredibly affirming and helpful. Thank you Virginia and Amy!

There’s so much judgment and anxiousness around food and feeding our kids. I love Amy and Virginia’s thoughtful, common sense approach. Excited for more.

This podcast shares realistic and practical tips for feeding our families. I love that they don’t push one certain approach or agenda when it comes to food. The tips they share are easy to apply to most all family situations! Keep up the great work ladies!
