I have listened to almost all the episodes for this podcast. This has to be the best tech history podcast

I just finished the entire series and I bawled at the end of the final episode. This podcast has been near and dear to my heart as a technology enthusiast who loves coding, game development and cybersecurity. I’m going to miss it because Saron Yitbarek did such an amazing job as the host. My...Read full review »

Essential listening for the roadmap from the origins of computer science to technology development today. A history lesson for all.

This podcast reminds me of Mr. Ballen’s “strange, dark, and mysterious” stories — but tech edition. It’s a very well done exploration of past tech “horror” situations — and what the protagonists did to identify, understand, contain, and vanquish them. Great stuff!

Just as I was starting to get over the overly enthusiastic voice of the narrator and enjoy the podcast, they start with the woke liberal ideologies. Why put opinion based messages into otherwise solid educational content? This only divides people further and causes your numbers to go down.

I stumbled onto this just recently after hearing about it in another podcast, and I've been binging it since. It covers *everything* about computing software and hardware and for me is also a nice stroll down memory lane. I'm hooked and it's now part of my regular IT listening...Read full review »

And the host is annoying
Gaz Wellard via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 01/25/22
I so want to listen to every podcast from this show. But the host’s vocal delivery is so exaggerated and affected that it’s unlistenable. This is too bad, because when the host interviews people in a normal conversation, she shows that she does have a more normal way of talking in real life....Read full review »

While the treatment of the history of computing gets a fair amount of depth with plenty of voices chiming in on the important waypoints along that fabulous tapestry. the host’s overall narration and delivery ruins the entire experience. She’s too sprightly and too upbeat, making the content feel...Read full review »

Really though to listen to. Everything is rise and fall and rise and fall and feels totally read off script without understanding. Vocal fry is unbearable.
Aspacelot via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/09/21
I wish podcasts like this one would create unity among all people and not just pander to a certain group for the sake of being woke. Instead, you are contributing to more division and hate.

I’m really interested in the topics this podcast explores, but the host (who I’m sure is a good person) has a bizarre set of vocal affectations that make her sound ungenuine and really condescending. She uses the same tone of voice that a kindergarten teacher might reserve for when she sits the...Read full review »

Very well researched and entertaining. Keep up the great work

The podcast covers a wide and interesting range of topics. Unfortunately, it feels like the narrator is speaking to a child with her intonation and cadence. The heavy use of sound effects is also annoying - it feels like they don’t trust they can keep my attention with the content itself.

I absolutely love this podcast. Especially the fact that they are bringing to light inventors who were never recognized for their work.

The content, is great. But the host’s delivery style, with frequent pauses, is grating and—after a while—makes it difficult, to keep listening. As another reviewer said, it sounds like, she is merely reading, a script. Also, the vocal fray, is quite extreme. Nevertheless, I am glad that, there...Read full review »

The host's delivery is irritating and far too affected. I can't shake the feeling while listening that I'm being talked down to. It's as if the podcast is targeted at grade schoolers. I love the subject matter but I'd rather listen to Siri read the transcripts.Read full review »

The content is always a good brief overview to the subjects. The interviews are great. But the narration style is really difficult to listen to. Every sentence is read to the same dramatic tune. Five stars if she could state things a bit more matter of factly.

Why does the host or narrator have to add an inflection at the end of all her sentences? Like every sentence is an exclamation. It’s not natural English speech and seems liked forced newscaster talk. Makes it hard to listen to.
