Unsubscribing after that. What a shallow and pompous person; I understand that she is a poet but to pretend at telling history, indigenous or otherwise, with such tenuous and self-regarding grasp is gross and weird.

at one point in episode 89 (with david naimon), you asked about whether you were allowed to talk about tinder on commonplace, and what david said not only answers your question but basically sums up what i feel in general when listening to commonplace: "you've established a mode of being...Read full review »

I feel almost embarrassed by how much I love these interviews and how hungry I am for this kind of conversation. Thank you.

Immersion, potency, shelter, openness. Call it what you will. Commonplace integrates the crow’s eye view of the world with the one magnified under a glass. The “fourth wall” of art and media is given its proper obliterative treatment, and the ritual of human Encounter is taken out of the dark...Read full review »

So good! I mean how often do you get to hear poets talk about their work, creative process, and life in this kind of depth?!? I came late to poetry via an MFA in fiction and a long break when my kids were small. This feels like a boon. I’ve been drinking down episodes daily and taking copious...Read full review »

Such thoughtful and smart conversations.
