“The podcast itself is good (thus 2 stars) but only on those rare moments it works! Older episodes often don’t charge and overall it’s a lot of hassle to get to listen to it. When you can, it’s great. Can anyone fix the problems please?”

“I thought that the BBC podcasts are available worldwide. This podcast proves that to be a lie as it is only available in the UK. Why is that so? You can listen to the actual COTW broadcasts on Radio 3 everywhere. But not the podcast. It makes no sense whatever.”

“You press ‘play’ and the following message pops up: ‘Episode Unavailable: This episode is temporarily unavailable from “Composer of the Week”’. You click ‘OK’, and the pop-up disappears for a nanosecond before popping up again (and again, and again, and again…), effectively preventing you from...”Read full review »

“This podcast into the lives and music of these composers is interesting, educational, beautiful and at times an exciting discovery for me. The relaxing voice of Donald Macleod is in harmony with this wonderful musical adventure.”

“I don’t know what are the reasons for some of BBC podcasts to be unavailable abroad, but whatever they are, the ones who imposed these limitations have absolutely failed! Greatly enjoying these stories from Russia.
For those who struggle to upload the podcasts – there are plenty of free VPN....”Read full review »

“The internet is loaded up with so much discord and nonsense that it’s so refreshing to listen to this podcast. I always learn something from it, and hear beautiful and interesting music. It’s a necessity.”

“I’m sure this is a terrific program. If only it could be streamed or downloaded. It really should be taken out of the iTunes store if it isn’t available.”

“Come BBC, don’t promote a podcast and get us to subscribe that you then can’t listen to or download.
This podcast is being promoted on Classical Fix which I can download and listen too!!!!!!!!”
“I listened to a lot of these last year and went back to re-listen and listen to others because they are so good and they're gone! Where did they go!? They say 'unavailable' when you try to download. Bring them back! :(”Read full review »

“I was excited to discover the program, only to find that zero of the episodes are actually available. I even tried third-party podcatchers, none of which could retrieve the episodes.
After this frustration, I sent the BBC an email to alert them to the fact that their podcast offering of this...”Read full review »

“Why can’t we listen to this outside of the week. Very frustrating and very disappointing. I was looking forward to learning more about Beethoven. This should be solved immediately.”

“This is educated, witty, broad ranging, emotive and erudite. And it’s free. Anyone who criticizes the BBC after hearing this needs to have their head examined.”
