I want to like this podcast.
First off I want to say that I'm a HUGE fan of the DIS Unplugged podcasts and of the team Pete Werner has assembled. I've also attended some of their live events. We watch or listen to most of the content they produce and think it is top notch. I was excited when they announced they were going to start this podcast but unfortunately for us it misses the mark. I waited several episodes before writing this hoping that my opinion would change as things evolved. But unfortunately it hasn't. If I had to describe this podcast it in a few words it would be "an audiobook with awkward banter interspersed". I think the actual content that Michael collated is excellent. In fact, I'd prefer they distribute the transcript that he is reciting from so I can read it at my leisure. The reading really bothers me. The DIS podcasts work because it sounds like a casual, natural conversation. This one lacks that element. Also, the banter between Craig and Michael seems very forced and awkward. There's not a lot of chemistry between these two which makes it difficult to listen to. There a Disney podcast with Len Testa and Jim Hill that has a lot of great content but has a more natural feel to it. Maybe others enjoy this format. I'm just not one of them. I'll check back into this podcast from time to time to see if things change. I also hope they consider releasing the content in readable form as an alternative.Read full review »

This is one podcast I never skip. The episodes are so well planned/researched/thought out in advance and is the most interesting history “class” I have ever listened to. If you want more than the surface level documentaries give you I highly recommend this podcast.

Great show! Michael knows his Disney history and Craig is always good for his colorful commentary!
