It'd been a long time coming, but this week, Alina popped back to Weatherfield to give evidence against her traffickers in court - and to the surprise of absolutely nobody watching, she didn't come alone...! Not gonna lie, this was definitely a bit of a 'meh' week for us this week, despite some clearly dramatic things going down on the cobbles. From Lauren's early labour to the whodunnit surrounding the fire at Stefan's office, it was all very exciting on paper... but yeah, we just weren't really feeling it. Did that stop us having a right old laugh discussing everything that was going on, though? Of course not! And we DID get to see more of the marvellous Debbie Webster, plus we were definitely...

With Lauren now confirmed as definitely not dead, it doesn't take long for the word to spread on the Street. Can Joel silence her before she blabs about why she's really been in hiding all this time? Lauren's not the only plucky young blonde causing bother this week either, as Betsy, not content with just blackmailing Joel, manages to get both Carla and Beth wrapped round her little finger too. Also this week, Amy signs up to the Institute, Mason's released from prison and Kit digs for dirt...

Overall this was a pretty good week, we thought, which isn't always the case when the Winter-Browns are headlining! However, some excellent performances by Dolly-Rose Campbell and the addition of Kit as he saves her from prison really helped us to enjoy this week's A-story, plus we're always suckers for a bit of location shooting too! Elsewhere on the Street, we're finally introduced to DS Swain's daughter Betsy, who looks set to be a real troublemaker; Glenda and George's spat is too much...

A real mixed bag of a week, we thought, with Wednesday's trip to Weatherfield definitely being the highlight thanks to its cosy, heartwarming scenes like movie night at No. 5 and what we're hoping is the beginning of a redemption arc for Cassie as she she bonds with Ken following his fall. Either side of that episode, though, there was one that made us angry (Toyah and Nick... No!!) and anther whose main story of Kevin and Stefan going head to head just didn't make that big of an impression...

Last Wednesday marked the first time that Iain MacLeod was not listed as Corrie's producer since he took over the reins from Kate Oates in late 2018. With the episodes going forward now bearing wife Verity's name, soon to be replaced by that of incoming producer Kate Brooks, Iain's time at the top on Corrie is finally at an end.
