“For a non Australian, It’s hard to make sense of, or reconcile with Menzel’s needless aggression against English cricket and the display of extreme parochialism(like how he is now argues the cricketers be prioritised over “ordinary citizens” to be brought back to Australia. However, having been a listener over the years, I do know the passion for the game is real and he puts the game above most. Jelisa and Paul have been wonderful additions, especially with tempering his rhetoric, balancing perspective and above all, some much needed analytical element to the show. It is entertaining all the same, once one gets used to the main host’s peculiarities.”
