I wish the hosts took it a bit more seriously?
I was listening to the first episode in hopes of finding a good podcast. I found Ashley Flowers fairly nice as one of the newer hosts. However... 1. The humor is REALLY hard to get into. They constantly are making light of things. The one episode I listened to I couldn't finish. Heaven's Gate, a cult that in itself had a lot of layers, was just kind of treated like they were crazy. Respect the history and don't act like it's so humorous people have certain beliefs. I'm not saying that jokes aren't allowed, but Applewhite was probably one of the least violent of all cult leaders. (Granted, yes, it's still a cult and I don't defend Heavens Gate.) 2. Are these two in high school or just kind of your popular friend? I swear all I'm getting from them is "this is a cool topic" vibe. 3. The tone is ALL OVER the place. I feel like they aren't taking it seriously and maybe that's why people like them? Hate Greg, Vanessa, and other hosts... but at least they're trying to take it seriously. Overall, maybe I just came on one of those shows that aren't for someone like me, who really loves a somewhat deep, but cohesive narrative. I'd take the shortened Crime question show over this.Read full review »

IS alive and well... AND is not always practiced as “black magic”. It’s one of the oldest hybrid of religions... you might not know much about the cults but don’t throw out some black magic voodoo on a religion you know nothing about.... with one sentence you just “satanic panicked” Santeria........Read full review »
