“After the Gone with the Wind discussion, I have to unsubscribe. It was really gross to listen to. The sort of apologetic attitude toward the Confederacy by a bunch of white men is one of the most tone deaf conversations I’ve heard in a long time. Comments like, sure slavery was bad, but some slaves went on vacation with their owners so how bad could it be? Really?! Or some people weren’t pro slavery but they inherited them and then freed them when they died. Really?! Lamenting the lost “civilization” of the South? Really?! I also was not surprised to hear near the end that one of you owns a Confederate flag. Was Lincoln a better president than Jefferson Davis? Sorry, I choose the anti-slavery president every time, regardless of whatever else I might disagree with. The sad thing is I’m sure you don’t even think you’re racists. This is why people are so upset.”
