Idiotic
This is not a comment about Taylor Swift, but of this insanely trite “analysis” of her music, performances, and cultural effect. Children, a little perspective please. If you had any knowledge of music and music culture before you were born perhaps this would not have been so annoying. There were plenty of musicians that had transformative, unifying effects on audiences, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé are just todays pop version of a long tradition in music of transporting audiences into feeling, for varying degrees of time, that you were all one together in an almost mystical experience. I had hopes that this New Yorker sponsored podcast would have some depth, but this is just a silly facile waste of time.
