This is such an excellently made podcast covering a diverse range of topics from the unusual to everyday - all of them interesting. PJ is an excellent host, always humble and curious. Thank you for this amazing podcast gift!

This podcast helps make sense of well articulated questions I may or may not have. I think in some ways I’m oddly more at peace and feel more equipped in my lifestyle choices.

Really good to have you back, PJ. I missed you after Reply All. Im listening to the meditation ep the day after the election result, and it’s helped. Thanks!

That episode on OpenAI was disappointing, hyping their massive revenue growth without noting the other side of the balance sheet and that it’s operating at billions in losses is pretty misleading. All the models hallucinate, wildly and without understanding, could cause problems? Not once was...Read full review »

I was a huge fan of reply all and now here I am at Search Engine. PJ Vogt has a unique skill of explaining to me WHY I want to know something to hook me, and then telling me everything that I want to know about that thing. Thank you PJ and Sruthie for doing the best work you can do. It is...Read full review »

PJ is my co-pilot. The sorties he tells are engaging and interesting so much that yes I have sat outside my destination to finish listening. Please please keep up the fantastic work. It’s hard to find a good co-pilot.

I’m so glad you’re back PJ! Find a way to bring back some version of Yes, Yes, No and I’ll be complete in life. 🙈

PJ Vogt is this generation’s cooler, edgier, scrappier Ira Glass. This show is constantly introducing me to new worlds, characters, and concepts I feel better for knowing by the end of the episode. Polished scripts, compelling airtight narratives, and a cinematic quality with a consistent style...Read full review »

If you are the type of person who hears a news story and always asks the question “but how does this affect me personally?” this might be the podcast for you (DEROGATORY). A special crime against humanity is the episode “Why don’t we eat people?” in which they bravely ask the question Jonathan...Read full review »

A super high quality content and production by PJ. Easily goes to my top 3. Not each and every episode is a hit, but good 80% are.

This is THE podcast for you if you’re curious about our world, how it works and, mostly, why. Each episode starts with a “simple” question and then the “answers” reveal even more interesting and important questions. Isn’t our world amazing?!?!? The best part is that the show walks us along this...Read full review »

PJ and the team do a great job. I look forward to every episode that comes out! I’ve never written a review about a podcast, but if a review keeps my favorite show on the air, then I will go out of my way to write one

Such unexpected story ideas, which if I read the titles out of the context of this podcast I’d often think “who cares, I’ll pass!”. But instead I’m always pulled in by the stellar guests, PJs talent for asking smart (often funny) questions, and a story with so many unexpected turns that I can...Read full review »

I’ve been a fan of PJ since the TLDR segments on NPR. Reply All was far and away my favorite podcast. I was late to know about his new show but I got hooked immediately by the Crypto Island series. PJ asks the dumb questions so we don’t have to, and gets us smart answers. I’ve enjoyed the show so...Read full review »

I was a huge fan of both TL;DR and Reply All. Listened to every episode, shared them a lot. Over time, however, I started to clock issues with PJ’s framing of narratives, how he treats the people around him, and that there are some journalistic integrity values that I was disappointed to watch...Read full review »

Lots of eps are good and insightful, genuinely interesting, however sometimes tips into naval gaze territory. Presumably the intention is relatability but misses the mark and can be off-putting. The balance of edutainment podcast to personal journal is not easy to strike

I have been waiting so long to hear Pj since the Reply All days, Search Engine is PJ back at it, amazing as ever. Interesting, thoughtful, honest, I am so happy to see a new episode pop up in my podcast feed. Great to hear you again PJ!

Addictive, inspirational, informative storytelling. I stopped and took notes during the recent inflation episode, it was so interesting and taught me more about the Dem/Rep split than I expected it to. The Bergheim episode is probably my favorite so far. Love the taking on of small and big stories.
