Lovecraft himself would be proud.
The reason this podcast is what it is, is because of the combination of a GM who has almost no boundaries and a limitless imagination, and players who have an unlimited capacity for role playing in the moment and being their characters. Lovecraft was always pushing boundaries, to the point of breaking and reforming entire thought processes on space, horror as a genre, the human psyche, and what is or isn't "horrible". This show does that in spades. To be put off by what happens during this show is human, it's normal, it's natural, because the events occurring are anything but. Lovecraft espoused an expanded view of the universe, and the sheer magnitude of it giving possibility of endless horror. It would be in poor taste to do anything with the Lovecraft name attached to it and yet set limits on how horrible things get. To sum it all up: I have listened to the mind of Lovecraft, expressed in audio. I cannot think of a higher compliment, or more accurate review, than that single sentence.Read full review »
