“I've always wanted a podcast that lets me relive the feeling of playing with my old tabletop gaming group. There are a few out there that try to do this, but the problem is that most of them are just straight recordings of game sessions. This is ok, but results in a lot of "um"s and dead air.
Cthulhu and Friends on the other hand, is edited and produced. There's foley effects and music used just enough to heighten the mood without overdoing it. Most importantly they cut out the fat. Bloopers and things that would ruin the tone or mood of a scene are removed and played at the end of an episode instead.
With how funny the show is to listen to I didn't think they would do as well when it came to the horror, but it is masterfully done. I was listening to the season 1 finalie on my way to work and I had a co-worker ask me if I was ok. Apparently I was visibly shaking when I first walked in.
The one and only negative that I can think of is that the audio quality on the first 2-3 episodes isn't the best. It continues to get better as the series goes on however.
This podcast is so good that I haven't felt the need to listen to any other show since I started listening two months ago. I can't wait to see what they come out with next.”Read full review »

I really like to go back and listen to episodes in clumps of three or four because everything is so...”Read full review »
