“The Slate Culture Gabfest is a smart conversation among three engaging and intelligent people who get under the hood of a wide range of cultural topics. I like the Culture Gabfest because it brings something new to the conversation about books, movies, tv, and various cultural phenomena. The hosts don’t provide a simple “I like it” or “It’s awful”; they provide an analysis in a bigger context about how a new work responds to and changes the bigger cultural landscape. They each bring a sophisticated framework to any conversation, and they put it to good use with intelligence and humor. As a listener I feel like I have learned something from each podcast, either in the form of a brilliant insight or in the excellent end-of-podcasts endorsements.”
