As a health professional that is just at the beginning of her career (I’m a first year rezident doctor specializing in Diabetes, Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases - yep, in my country this is a separate specialty from endocrinology) I feel like this was the BEST podcast as it made me actually...Read full review »

Marvellous podcast! Episode 6 goes beyond anything on food and nutrition that is around! Thanks and keep going

I appreciate episode 5 that addresses food insecurity and social determinants of health, however race wasn’t mentioned once and you can’t talk about these issues without also discussing the structural racism that is the root cause of food insecurity.

Please make another series. This was very informative- I learnt a lot about nutrition, and I love how papers are frequently cited throughout the podcast. It gives you further reading to do and also emphasises that this is an evidence based source of information. As a medic, I am aware of the fog...Read full review »

Thank you Alan and Joshua. It is so refreshing to hear solid analysis on nutritional science that gets to the crux of the issues. I appreciate your respect of the listener and enjoy the lack of hyperbole. Good science discussion should always be this apolitical and unbiased. My one genuine...Read full review »

I wonder is this podcast aimed at doctors, and those within the field of medicine, or is it trying to educate the general public? Some of the ideas/concepts referred to, for example, the Dunning-Kruger scale need explaining. I also don’t think the topics are introduced in a succinct way and...Read full review »

What a fantastic podcast. I already love the information Dr Joshua Wolrich puts on social media and Alan Flanagan provided so much insight into some of these topics. As described in my title - it provides a lot of thought-provoking information that allowed me to challenge my own thinking or...Read full review »

Alan’s fierce disdain for silly diets and poorly formulated nutrition beliefs is only second in magnitude to his outrage at the neoliberal doctrine that exacerbates the nutritional and health divide. Love it. As an aside, I was led here by the Barbell Medicine Podcast.

I’ve always been interested in nutrition and read extensively on the subject. I’ve always questioned which of the advice and information out there is false or misleading and wondered how there could be such a gap in help figuring out what is worth listening to. Your podcast not only filled that...Read full review »

Impatiently awaiting the second season. Important to note, that I didn’t listen to this seeing all doom and gloom. It was an honest dialogue to listen to. Realistic and thought provoking.

I cringe every time they interrupt. Hard to listen to
shaister via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/29/20
Unfortunately boils down to about 30 seconds to zero information per episode. It is entirely unbalanced with rhetoric which is ironic and disappointing considering that the presenters claim they are trying to get away from it. Would benefit from a pithy, structured approach, presenting evidence...Read full review »

Thank you for a good first season. I am a big fan of the topics and nuances of the science you present - more if that in the seasons to come. I am looking forward hearing you discuss nutrition and diabetes. Kind regards, Mark

Wow.... so much insightful information. In the ocean of misinformation the plagues the internet and social media feed it was so good to seriously cut through the “nutribollocks”. A great source of information - looking forward to season 2.

Love the banter between the doc & the nutritionist...no fads, just facts! I love this podcast, there is a lot of scientific information which I enjoy! They also try to make it easier to understand for individuals who don’t have that background. Excellent messaging and a good way to peel back all the confusing nutritional bs out there!

I listen to a lot of podcasts and I must say this is my favourite so far. I binge listened to then all in one day. This podcast does a fantastic job of explaining the complexities of nutrition and science so that everyday people can understand and hopefully take something away. I love that they just tell it how it is! Hopefully they continue making episodes and more people get a chance to listen in.

I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to these episodes and many other podcasts you’ve both been involved in. After years of yo-yo dieting, and taking advice from diet books, I now realise it’s money spin and potentially dangerous advice. Thanks and can’t wait for more!

I WANT to like this podcast but the constant interruptions from Alan is extremely annoying. Joshua will start saying something that sounds interesting and is immediately cut off by Alan and never gets the chance to get to his point. I can’t.

There are some really negative reviews by people who are clearly not listening properly and/or misinterpreting the messages. Perhaps they’re aggy because they’re having their biases challenged? For anyone who has half a brain cell - this is a great podcast.

I gained so much knowledge from each episode, and thought that Season 1 was perfectly constructed from beginning to end.
