Beware
2 extremely intelligent and articulate presenters. However this podcast reeks of arrogance, inflation of ideas, assumptions rather than facts and also attacks other HCP individuals - which is against the GMC medical code of ethics. Alan refers to himself as a healthcare professional, when in fact he is a nutritional scientist and has no clinical experience at all. Please take this podcast with a pinch of salt and seek to balance your opinion alongside against views of scientists and clinicians who have been working in this field for decades. This podcast is a heavily opinionated discussion between 2 individuals, and is dangerous if taken as gospel. Which is somewhat ironic. I am not saying that I agree with the statement ‘food is medicine’ I’m not saying that at all, but statements in this podcast have just as much potential to cause harm when taken in isolation. They say “You can have the perfect diet and still get Cancer and still get heart disease” this can easily be interpreted as there’s no point trying then, when in actual fact improving the quality of the diet is one of the most important things that anyone with a poor quality of diet can do to prevent disease in the future. 4 out of every 5 children in the UK do not meet the recommended 5-a-day target for fruit&veg portions.
