Jim and Jakob do a great job analyzing and celebrating this terrific TV show. Like Jakob, I am watching for the first time and I appreciate this format.

I’ve listened to every episode of Cut to Black, and was grateful to have the back catalog during the dark days of the pandemic. Talking sopranos on the other hand… I stopped listening to halfway through the first season. Mediocre, self-aggrandizing “insights” between half hearted ad reads for...Read full review »

This show is really funny. I can’t tell for sure but I think/hope Jakob finally realized it’s just Johnny Sack, not Sacks. Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure Jim still thinks Tony’s mom’s name is Olivia. It’s just Livia, dude. Drove me crazy. But I love the show.

I love PodaBing for it's loving attention to details, I enjoyed Talking Sopranos for it's insider stories (to a degree), but these two guys are so comforting to listen to, and they hit the right mark on analysis and opinion with personality that works. Great concept with the veteran and...Read full review »

When The Many Saints of Newark came out, I decided to do a sopranos rewatch. I tried a few companion podcasts, but quickly gravitated to Jim and Jakob. They recap the episode (which is great as I sometimes miss things), but also provide thoughtful analysis and opinions. As a bonus, they seem like...Read full review »

Great analysis from Jakob and Jim. This is for those who enjoy Sopranos on more than one level. These gents look under the bonnet of everything from production to the hidden message behind different scenes. All this while not taking themselves too seriously. Excellent podcast !

Late to the podcast, but I recently started my fourth re watch of the series when I found you guys. Great insights, great commentary, and you guys have brought more things to my attention that I’ve never noticed before. Wish I would have found this when this started, I actually watched the series...Read full review »

Jim and Jakob bring a ton of enthusiasm to what they do every week. They love the show, they do their homework, and they discuss it as fans - not as experts or as mafia wanna-bees. If you are looking to watch (or rewatch) The Sopranos with friends who appreciate the humor in the show as much as...Read full review »

These guys have trouble comprehending the plot, never mind any of the many more complex (and rewarding) aspects of the show. Gavin has a little more on the ball than the co-host, but overall this is just not a good use of anyone’s time.

I have listened to every Sopranos Podcast out and this one is by far the best. Its great hearing the perspective of a first time watcher but still getting the complexities and the nuances of the all time greatest show. Keep up the great work fellas!!

This is a really amazing podcast. The two hosts give really great insights and have great rapport. They are able to pick out nuances that I initially missed. I only have two real knocks. The first one is that they tend to mispronounce some words that I consider pretty common. Unfortunately, I’ve...Read full review »

Although I’ve watched The Sopranos several times, rewatching along with this podcast was a wild ride! The hosts & their humor kept me coming back for more on a daily basis & then when they made their first BTVS reference, I knew these were my boys! I found this podcast after the...Read full review »

Perfect timing:) I watched The Sopranos when it originally aired and loved it. I just rewatched the series and was beyond thrilled to find Cut to Black! Absolutely Fantastic podcast!

Leaving a copy from my review of "Shows What You Know". I'm coming to the end of this podcast with only a couple of episodes left. I'll miss it when it's over. With The Sopranos' recent 20th anniversary, I decided to come back to it and watch it entirely from start to...Read full review »

You’ll want more 5 min later. The co-host is huge blow hard douche and that ruined the show.

Re-watching Sopranos as I do the late shift with my newborn, and then listening to this podcast at work to stay awake! Very enjoyable and interesting take on the show from two perspectives, one who’s seen it and one who hasn’t. Keep up the good work gents!

I’ve watched The Sopranos several times over but I’m really enjoying this take, watching the episodes and then listening to the insight by Jim and Jakob is great and points out things I either never thought of nor saw. Looking forward to doing this with other shows.

Great podcast and so glad they are doing this. I like how they note how moronic evil the characters really are in spite of how they have qualities that make people watch the show.

I thought I had already written a review, but apparently I haven’t, so here goes! The Sopranos Sitdown podcast is both intelligent and colloquial (just like the Sopranos itself) in its thoughtful breakdown of the best show of all time. Listened to just about every on the iTunes world has to offer, this one takes the cake. Deep dives into themes and influences that developed the greatest TV show of all time (sorry not sorry the wire, mad men, and thrones). The kicker is that we get a goofy Scandinavian guy (Jakob) to analyze...Read full review »

As a general rule, I don’t particularly enjoy television shows or discussion thereof. However, I watched The Sopranos last winter for the first time. I've been a huge fan of the Sopranos since it originally aired! Your podcast is great! One suggestion: Jakob needs to speak up.
