Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History
These podcasts are fascinating. He puts a phenomenal amount of research into each episode, makes lots of historical connections and brings it alive. I’ve had to stop listening to them while driving. I was concentrating on the podcast and forgetting about the road.

...though Dan Carlin does come off as a bit pretentious and that weakens it somewhat but I find it most enjoyable since I have a B.A. in history myself.

This is truly an excellent program. Mr. Carlin makes you think about history and how it shapes present day. This is not your usual flat narrative, this is though provoking, exciting and fascinating material. An excellent source to learn something new and reflect upon something already known.

Each episode is incredibly informative and thought provoking. It has helped me to look at history in a new way and with a greater perspective. I enjoy the subjects he has chosen as well.
