Don’t rattle on about it, Dan is the best.

Nothing comes close to these history masterpieces. Occasionally, especially the Supernova series gets caught up in too much war/troop movements for me. But his older stuff still holds up.

I did the hike on Hadrian's Wall from coast to coast. One of the other hikers was always listening to Dan Carlin's Roman Empire podcasts. When I got home, I downloaded some and started listening. I've listened to them all at least twice now. Still very much my favorite history...Read full review »

This is one of the greatest podcasts of all time and has been for 15 years (since the iPod days). Masterfully crafted stories on fascinating pieces of history. Super engaging. Super well made. And by phenomenal I mean Dan is a phenom. This is a master’s level listen of points of history that need to be known and have eerie shading on today’s America and how a segment of a country can go to unimaginable lengths in service to megalomaniacal leaders. His depth of knowledge and ability to...Read full review »

If you’re looking for someone to make pithy points or concisely tell a story, you’re in the wrong place. Carlin can’t answer a yes/no question in under 7 hours. Great detail. While I sometimes find the episodes a bit long they are extremely interesting well structured. Fav so far is the Celtic/Roman story. Love to hear some shows on medieval battles and up through the Tudor period.

Came here for a non biased view of history. Just like most media these day this has a slant. Not saying it’s right or wrong but can anyone produce anything these days that is politically neutral and just factual.

Best history podcast on the web. Period. I've tried other podcasts, but they all seem to be reading off a script. Best history podcast ever. Dan’s preparation is incredible and his story telling is just as good. Anyone saying there isn’t enough information needs to understand that in order to keep a podcast interesting you have to be a good story teller. If you want to read a textbook, go read a textbook.
