“Dan Carlin attacks the subjects of his podcast with all the enthusiasm and bravado of a college freshman. He may state the context is king but that doesn’t mean he’s found the context. He makes it readily apparent that he is a journalist and not a historian by missing the fine details in favor of broad generalizations and assumptions based on a quick analysis of those generalizations. On top of that he desperately wants you to know that he is intelligent, often taking detours that have the soul purpose to demonstrate how well read and or smart he is. If nothing else this podcast will hopefully inspire people to research these topics themselves and learn the real history from a historian who has true a contextual understanding. Lastly if pronunciation matters to you he gets wrong almost every time sometimes to staggering degree adding or swapping vowels with reckless abandon.”
