“As a life long Mainer I have always been a bit of a snob when it comes to my state gathering national attention. When someone from away talks about Maine they usually portray Mainers as just simple hicks from the North and the stories are just filled with the same old clichés. THAT IS NOT THE CASE WITH DARK DOWNEAST. It is immediately clear Kylie’s local perspective on everything. The time and effort she puts in is so evident in everything from the information and research in each episode, all the way to the overall production value of the podcast. I have always been into Maine history but I still find myself learning something new in every episode. Thank you for doing this podcast! It truly feels like it’s from Mainers for Mainers.”
