Huh?
It is obvious that Hadley knows nothing about farm life yet seemed to overly focus on couple of points. Like why didn’t the animals freak out? Here’s a news flash. Farm animals are not ALL like dogs. Chickens roost and go to sleep until the rooster sees the sun come up. Horses and cows also sleep, standing up, and unless there is a predator physically messing with them they also stay quiet. It was interesting how it was obviously assumed that the neighbor was right next door. That is not how it is in the farm belt. She may have had up to a mile but of space between the dwellings and still be considered her neighbor. Her own routine probably allowed her to notice the the lights had not come on in the Villisca house, or that it was unusually quiet that day. It is not unusual that she would notice the chickens needed let out for the morning or to take the liberty to unlatch their coop. She most likely felt comfortable on their front step as well in 1868, and even surprised to find it locked. Many people never locked their doors at all at this point in history, and a good neighbor watched out for you and you returned the favors. Understanding why this is unsolved hinges in part on these small everyday clues of human behavior and lifestyle of a small farming community. Writing for a design magazine has different qualifications for research than research done by a fact checking journalist it seems. Educate yourself before you speak and at least pretend you have public speaking experience by staying on the subject at hand and stop using the word “like”.

The content is good and I think I would have enjoyed it but……..these chicks say “like” excessively. I tried to muscle through because I enjoyed the content but I had to really focus with all the guttural speaking, “super” and “like”s. It was as if I was listening to 12 year olds gossiping on the...Read full review »
