“Welp.... just shot through Darkest Night podcast. There are some good stories for sure. But they’re hit or miss, with the stories getting more and more gore heavy as it goes. It’s an anthology horror series with an overarching plot that ties all the stories together. (Minor Spoiler Alert) Basically you’ve got two people working for an evil corporation where they can look at the last moments of someone’s life by taking the eyes out of the corpses. The deaths make the horror stories, and the major plot is based around them finding out their company is evil, corporate espionage, and eventually getting the government involved.... because murders, obviously. It’s got some great voice actors, but for whatever reason all of them are doing it way too campily. The first season gave intrigue and connected the dots fairly well. I feel the second season furthered this track decently enough to keep me interested. The third season, however, was a straight descent into narcotic madness with a sloppy tie up and a ludicrous, nonsensical ending to the full story. God, it was disappointing! Lol Anywho, decent premise with some decent to downright fantastic stories peppered throughout. I really wish the execution of the major story was handled better. I’m not saying don’t check it out, it’s an easy binge, but be mindful that you won’t get full satisfaction. At least I didn’t. Dennis O’Hare’s voice acting was obviously the highlight and draw for me.”
