If you are looking for something other than a scholarly look at the Bible and all the dogma that’s built up around it for the past 2-4000 years, then go to church. If you want to hear a scholar talk about the history and context of the many books that make up the Bible to a layman, this is it. And for the record, Mormons are Christians, they’re just like every other sect, and believe in their own personal Jesus.
