So much thought has been put into Data Framed.
I think I am the real life embodiment of your ideal target audience. Back in 2010 as an engineering undergraduate student, I had the worst experience of my life learning programming. I had three courses of Java and it was a nightmare. Reasons for this probably were: I had no intrinsic motivation to learn plus DataCamp, coding culture, and real life examples of data science applications (like the ones you feature in Data Framed) didn’t exist. Fast forward 8 years and I am now a PhD student in climate change and sustainability. I have been studying the theory for several years and this journey has led me to see clearly that without learning data science, I cannot contribute to solving sustainability issues. Never have I better understood the WHY of learning data science. I have so many ideas and data science is finally providing a way to draw from huge datasets and generate insights. That’s not all! I am also a podcast writer. That’s why I have so much appreciation for Data Framed. I value and appreciate all the thought put into it. •The interludes from Stack Overflow diaries. •Even though you’re a data science pro, your committed effort to step back and look at data science with a beginner's mind and ASK entry-level questions. •Your willingness to ask difficult questions with nuanced answers (most clearly on the data science for ads episode). Tricky questions but you addressed them superbly. •Obvs at Datacamp you’re very well connected, but the guest selection has been TOP OF THE CHARTS! Data science application in everything! •Amazing examples of the uses of logistic regression, the every day consequences of confusing causality with correlation, the mean and typical user (Buzzfeed episode). •The episode of women in R and addressing the gender gap in data science WAS EPIC! As a woman who once thought this field was a bunch of dudes sat eating burritos with bad posture while coding, my younger self would have benefited from hearing that episode about 7 years ago. I can write probably 20 bullet points more of how I realise this podcast has been well crafted. The final motivation to write this e-mail is when I discovered that Hugo did a Facebook Live session showing the different techniques guests have talked about. ARE YOU SERIOUS? From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all your effort and dedication. Please know that I appreciate your work, you’re truly contributing to democratising data science and multiplying its reach. Cannot wait to hear hundreds of episodes more!Read full review »

Hugo does an a some job and the guests have been good too.

Audio sometimes a bit crusty, sounds like it’s recorded from a telephone / speakerphone sometimes, but the material and discussion is top notch.

Yeah Hugo speaks amazingly well to all his guests. A very well informed man, knows a lot. If your studying at DataCamp this is a must podcast to listen to.
