“I have been a long time listener of Dateline podcasts. I haven't listened in awhile and today i went on for first time in a few months to hear an advertisement for GCU… thats Grand Canyon University… a Christian University, embedded into the episode. This isn't Youtube where you can control ad content. While i have no problem with religious freedom, the active promotion of a university that is anti women's right (aka abortion/reproductive health) and LGBTQ right to marry is audacious and disappointing.
In a time where ppl are actively being denied human rights to their bodily autonomy and right to love who they love, as we delve quickly into fascism, i find myself more frequently being aware of who and what i follow. If NBC is actively persuing this rhetoric, they will find that a very large proportion of their dateline listeners are LGBTQIA, not to mention WOMEN desiring the right to their own bodily choices.
