“Well done Courier Mail for devoting time and resources to this important subject. This is important journalism and a good example of why society need journalists.
Needless to say, podcasts are an audio medium; it’s very important for good audio quality. The sound quality in this podcast ranged from good to adequate to fair to poor. The podcast might have benefited from a bit more narration to assist or make up for the poor sound quality of some of the interviews. Despite the occasional hard-to-hear interviews, I persisted with the podcast because the story is important, and the writing was mostly well-paced and interesting
I did find *some* of the writing somewhat repetitive. People critiqued Hedley Thomas’s references to ‘the soft soil’ in The Teacher’s Pet as repetitive. But I regarded ‘the soft soil’ as a speculative object; repetitive references in Dead Wrong were facts; things such as Jeffrey’s job title/profession. These facts don’t need repetition unless you imagine your listeners will tune in at the beginning of Episode 5 or 7.
The tag-team narration worked well. Occasionally the female host’s voice slipped into fry-range, but it wasn’t sufficient to distract nor detract from the story
Kudos and well wishes to Jeffrey’s family for their backbone and determination
Please update your podcast on any progress on any further inquiry into Jeffrey’s death”
