It’s a story that deserves to be heard, but as it has been uploaded in reverse order it’s simply too much hassle to listen to.

It’s that good!

Well done Courier Mail for devoting time and resources to this important subject. This is important journalism and a good example of why society need journalists. Needless to say, podcasts are an audio medium; it’s very important for good audio quality. The sound quality in this podcast ranged...Read full review »

Narration is deadpan. I don’t understand why people don’t get vocal training. It lets down what could have been a good podcast.
TeacherBaldy via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 01/02/21
This was a fascinating series and very well put together. I listened to it as one may a real page-turner of a book where you just want to see where it goes. While the podcast presented matters from a particular angle there’s little doubt in my mind that all was not as the police would have...Read full review »

I found some of the audio unintelligible but whilst this was frustrating it is still a compelling story.
JS_83 via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 07/04/20
There’s audio recording I’m not even sure why you bothered including you have minutes on minutes of people you can’t even make a word out of, especially every recording from “Greg”
lophophora williamsii via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 07/02/20
I wish the recordings were clearer - I had a hard time understanding what was being said. Other than that a good podcast. I hope his family finds closure.
stellie2702 via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 06/18/20
Well put together story and investigation how ever the constant recapping of already previously discussed information became frustrating and unnecessary.
SIR DIGBY CHICKEN CEASER via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 06/01/20
Good true crime investigation and good for the family to have this brought to public interest but the production is too repetitive

Fantastic Great really enjoyed it

My issues with this podcast are the same as so many other reviews. So, so, sooo tedious to listen to. I gave up.
RiffRaffMama via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 03/28/20
A fascinating story, but episode after episode circles around exactly the same three points: personal tensions before the event, implausibility of the police theory and missing evidence. It feels like the middle three or four episodes are basically the same, without developing the story in any...Read full review »

Excellent investigative journalism. Superlative podcast! Really keen to hear about further developments - and tosee justice finally done.

The quality of some of the interviews is very poor. I gave up in the end.

This is a really well made and researched podcast. It was very intriguing case and this left me wanting more!

Not sure why so many reviews are sooking about the sound - try turning it up, get headphones or get your ears tested!! Was fine with me. But anyway, a really interesting, matter of fact and well researched podcast. Love the way the Aussie ones steer clear of the sensationalist, dramatic nonsense...Read full review »

The story of the young man Jeff who is the victim is told with care and is really well researched. So the story is engaging and the sourcing is on point. I’m awarding a star for each of those aspects. I’m not awarding any more because the sound quality is poor. Now I’ll say it’s not bad enough...Read full review »

I got very frustrated with the same thing being said every episode. Good potential but way too repetitive!
Hgs boys via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 05/24/19
Great subject matter. Too repetitive from episode to episode. Sound quality is terrible. This needs a major makeover and it’ll be a brilliant podcast. I had to give up after 4 episodes as it was so difficult to listen to.

I tried.. but couldn’t get past first episode.. no one reason in particular.. just didn’t work for me.. both narrators tone, the sound effects, and the fact that it just sounds far too much as if I’m being read a story.. as it is very obvious they are both just reading the story off a page....Read full review »

The audio quality was horrible. Like someone had their head in a tin pain when they were talking. Never got past the first one. I'm sure it's a good story if you can get past the very poor quality.Read full review »

I have come back to this to try again. Last time I gave up after a few episodes because the sound quality is awful! Every few seconds you are either struggling to hear, or being deafened because the volume shift between different recordings is enormous. Makes for really hard listening and takes...Read full review »

Thank-you for this podcast. I had heard of this before, but this was so in-depth & well researched. I hope this renews police investigation.

I struggled to hear key interviews, the audio was all over the place and I thought it would improve as the series progressed.

Sad
Looks like the lesson to be learned from this story Geoffrey should have walked out Shonky company no money Irresponsible ownership = Bitter workers = Death of a nice young man = sad for everyone

Great story but narrative is repetitive in places and the sound quality is poor - hard to hear some interview footage.
Al Miln via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 10/22/18
Great Podcast with an interesting storyline. The plot summary is repeated in every single episode though which is frustrating.

I’m so impressed with the quality of this podcast - and devastated by the lack of justice for Jeffrey and his family. The original police investigation is nothing short of disgusting. Great content and reporting. Halfway through and trying hard not to just bail on it because of the terrible producing. The constant volume change and off putting music while talking makes it close to unbearable to listen.
Bawsssssss via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 09/18/18
The story is good but you keep repeating yourself with the same facts. Some episodes have no new insight from the previous episode. You could have condensed this whole very interesting story down to 3 or 4 episodes. Not 7!
Peach987 via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 09/06/18
I listen to every true crime podcast I come across, and many are poor, which reminds me I have to clean up my subscriptions. This story is well researched, and interesting from beginning to end! Great work. Please write another season !!
Angelo-Brooklyn NY via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/01/18
Found this a very interesting story, but I agree with the other reviewer that the recordings of interview subjects (not just archived material, but new interviews for the podcast) were of poor quality and not a consistent volume. I also thought that there was too much recap at the beginning of...Read full review »

This case is very interesting and very frustrating it wasn’t investigated properly at the time. No wonder the family are fighting so hard for this. I hope they get justice. Although a good story, sadly the sound in this podcast is the worst I've ever heard on Apple podcasts. People who make podcasts need to hire a professional reputable audio engineer, as the sound in this series is a good example of utterly appalling audio skills. Too quite then too loud then...Read full review »

Compelliing listening ....but so badly produced ....the material is repeated so often I'm often checking I havent replayed an older episode. Could have fit the whole thing in 3-4 episodes. Also badly produced on a tchnical level...poor audio etc .Read full review »

It was okay, just okay, through ep 6 then it got a little repetitive.

This was a great podcast but the last two episodes have been tedious. I’m pretty bored now listening to the same stuff over and over just repeated differently. I think it’s time to wrap it up

Outstanding Aussie true crime podcast. Well researched, well presented and compelling listening.
GPfromSA via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 08/13/18
The detailed and compelling investigation is amazing. I hope the police listen to this and make the right call.
Amirapigglet via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 08/13/18
This is a riveting story. If the audio were more consistent I’d give it a better rating but it’s very difficult to listen to because the volumes of the different segments vary and a lot of the recordings are poor and impossible to understand.
Rls29650 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/12/18
The story, writing and content of this podcast is great. The audio quality however is not. Some microphones are dull and muted and differing qualities. The change of sound level from too low to too high is irritating.
Karleex X via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 08/09/18
Story is great, well researched, compelling, relevant. However the audio quality is so poor it’s unintelligible at times and this then continues for a 2-3minute recording. If the clip is poor just reenact it like the rest of the podcast. It can also be horribly repetitive. Every episode so far...Read full review »
