Wonderful and different
30-some straight white cis man here. I listen exhaustively to Dan Savage & Tristan Taormino, so whether that's a bonus or a signal to write me off, you've been told. There are many things I adore about this show. Sheryl and Steve are world-worn. They talk like they've lived through their confusions and come out the other side. The depth of their honesty and clarity of their advice—even when I don't fully agree with it—is powerful stuff. I'm not used to advice columns that plunge into the advisors' experience, and I didn't think it could work. And they totally won me over. (I'm also not used to straight people giving sex & relationship advice, but that's a side point.) They treat complex topics with respect, and dig into the complexities. (The poly episode was good as it's gonna get from two mono people.) This really gets interesting when it crosses with their own stories. Maybe unique's a better word there. Unique and powerful. And I love the production. Their voices sound warm and close; the music adds emotion where I thought it would only sound hokey; whoever that is from WBUR makes me feel welcomed. Thanks for doing this, everyone. It's a great addition to my week.Read full review »

I love that Cheryl and Steve talk about real stuff-the good and the bad. We hear stories about all kinds of people and their genuine problems. So great to reinforce how we are all related and all share many stories. Hearing the solution to one, can offer solace to many.

Love the show and am a huge fan. I definitely enjoyed the new format with the shorter questions. I would like to see episodes with long answers interspersed with these short answer episodes. Keep up the good work!!
