Close, but not quite
I've given the Dear Sugar book "Tiny Beautiful Things" as a gift more than a dozen times. It's profound and paradigm-shifting and so wonderful, I buy in bulk to have on hand. Much of what makes the book great we haven't heard in the podcast yet. 2 suggestions, 1 big; 1 small: -- Cheryl is a writer; write responses first, spend time in assembling and articulating the collection of stories and examples that make the column so poignant and universal -- then explain your thoughts or read to listeners what you'd write. -- the Nina Simone song as as intro and closing theme song is fine (perhaps a bit dreary, but fine -- compare to Savage LoveCast for alternative) but the big offender: the slightly haunted and wailing organ heard elsewhere in the podcast is dark and dreary -- please replace with something lighter and more upbeat. In column and book form Dear Sugar makes us laugh; please don't lose that thread in this format. Thanks for considering!Read full review »
