I wish there was another WOC who could also host with Wilnelia. As a Boston WOC listener, I was like “what?” when I heard the other co-host say that her demographic is “nerdy women.” Really? As a person with an intersectional identity, I am born with my identities - racial, class - and I don’t...Read full review »

"Sorting through the current political trash heap can feel tiring and demoralizing, but movement-building pros and hosts of Deep Democracy Gina Christo and Wilnelia River infuse politics with Beyoncé and T.J.Maxx candles, creating an engaging conversation that calls you to joy and justice....Read full review »

I'm a politics junkie and love the fresh perspective these hosts bring, as gay women, and Wilnelia as a WOC, and as progressive movement builders with state, local and national experience. The point they made in the second episode about forgetting winning back the white working class and...Read full review »

As a woman of color currently running for House Delegate in Virginia, this podcast could not be more spot-on. Thank you for continuing to push the message that democracy needs us and that when you include the people in the margins, you include everyone. It’s on all of my campaign materials! 💙

This is an OpEd talk show basically—. Opinion shows are fine, but the trailer built it up to be a serious conversation with some acknowledged experts. Listening to it feels like an intercepted private phone call between two friends—with a rather gossiping tone to it. I suppose ‘not professional’...Read full review »

When I opened the podcast, I thought it would be discussion diving deep into a topic, but both the women seem to bounce from subject to subject without providing any context of what they’re talking about. For instance they mention an announcement, but don’t read the announcement for those of us...Read full review »

I typically shy away from political shows because I don’t find the topics and viewpoints interesting. This was the opposite. Thanks for sharing your perspectives on the political process and current events. I was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed the conversations.
