James Martin episode
I have just listened to James Martin talking, what a fascinating storey. Oh, to sample one of his favourite bacon sandwiches. Ironically, as I listened to him talk of his time at the Hotel du Vin, I was actually driving through Winchester - my home town. We ate at the Hotel du Vin whilst James was head chef and am more than familiar with the building society and Estate Agents he spoke of. The Hotel is self has a very interesting past, it was The Southgate Hotel until two local ‘entrepreneurs’ were looking to invest some money they had made and in doing so founded the Hotel du Vin. I am also looking forward to sampling the fish and chips from ‘Shoal’, the new chippy in Winchester High Street that James also spoke of. I believe the chip shop also has a pedigree that should set it apart from any other chip shop in the country.
