Old Dogs, Old Tricks
And yet, I've found Brett Douville and Tim Longo to be ever so amusing and enlightening every week in ways that many other young puppies simply Nintendon't. Dev Game Club may not be doing anything particularly new or inventive, but the retrospective format is very much suited to these gentlemen. With their casual sincerity and their many years as veteran game developers under their belts, I've found myself learning as I chuckle to these weekly listens. From design philosophies and development stories of yore to the mewing of James Taylor and The Gilmore Girls, I cannot think of a better listen for the middle of the week. "But wouldn't it be more interesting if these old dogs learned new tricks?" You may ask. And they could, they could. But there's something genuine about how it is now that I don't think needs to be broken. So while others may try their hand at new tricks, like trying to sell hot takes as hot cakes, Brett will continue to stew openers as Tim goes "Oh geez." And I honestly prefer the latter. Which is why I've finally decided get around to write this five star review, even knowing that I would have to do so on my phone, while being irritatingly forced to type in portrait mode.Read full review »

Id describe the hosts as expert developers but amateur players. They make you think about the...Read full review »
