Hands-down, my favorite
The field of Twin Peaks podcasts has recently opened up with many new very good additions. However, Diane is not simply my favorite Twin Peaks podcast, it's my favorite popular media related podcast. (Of course, this is skewed because I'm a Twin Peaks fan, but it's not the only property that I follow closely.) Diane excels in many ways: * The depth of their analysis adds much to rewatches by fans already familiar with the core details of each episode. They provide cultural, metaphysical and philosophical interpretations and observations that are interesting regardless of whether it was intentional or 'in the text' of the production. * What could come off as pretentious, instead (if you follow the tone they are creating) comes off as a caring exploration of and conversation about a show the hosts love, as they don’t overlook the flaws, and balance the intellectualism with plenty of humor. * Finally, the pacing is second to none. They run a no-spoiler podcast and do a scene-by-scene analysis (sometimes skipping minor scenes). It has never dragged for me and the episodes end too early. Diane, rekindled my small pile of fandom coals into one of the most enjoyable rewatches since seeing the show for the first time. You definitely should give the podcast a shot to see if what they are doing clicks with you.Read full review »

This is a stellar podcast where four very smart people entwine the world of Twin Peaks with anthropology, myth, human psychology, film theory, and and and. All without seeming overly academic or stodgy. Thoroughly enjoy it!

Essential supplement to the series especially if you're facinated with the visual world of David Lynch and honestly why are you watching Lynch if you're not? Lively discussion ranges from symbology, metaphor, myth and a penetrating analysis of hair styles. The best!Read full review »
