Great podcast!
Jennifer does a wonderful job with her research and tells a good story. Her delivery has improved considerably since the beginning and I so appreciate the frequency with which she puts out new episodes. My only complaint is a stupid one, but it annoys me nonetheless. It’s mounTain, not moun’an, and buTTon, not bu’on. This use of glottal stops wouldn’t be so annoying if it were consistent, as in with certain British accents, but it’s not. She will, in the same sentence, say a word correctly and then incorrectly. The episode about the Uruguayan rugby team up there on the moun’an/mounTain annoyed me so much I had to shut it off. I’m pretty sure I’m the only person on earth bothered by this but if there’s one of us.... Otherwise great job.

More reviews of Disaster Area
...sometimes it gets a little too political, especially as a political consultant who tries to listen to non-political podcasts to take a break. But I love all the disasters you cover so I'll keep listening.Read full review »

I work in emergency management and really appreciate being up to speed on historical disasters. Super interesting, trying not to listen to them all at once!

Great content, well researched and very thorough. Could be 5 stars if the bills weren't such a focus and the personnel politics stayed out off them. Great job otherwise!Read full review »
