Well researched and compassionate recounting
Tragedies and disasters are sensational stories and a podcast based on them can easily become insensitive to the people the stories involve. This is never the case with Materese, who focuses on the victims of a disaster, and never the perpetrators (when there is a human one). Her research is thorough and storytelling is engaging without glorifying violence. She tells the stories we should all know, and acknowledges the victims who deserve to be remembered.

This podcast is amazing, the depth of coverage is top notch, even if she does perform unfathomable gymnastics to find a way to blame Every. Single. Disaster. on racism.
