Well researched and compassionate recounting
Tragedies and disasters are sensational stories and a podcast based on them can easily become insensitive to the people the stories involve. This is never the case with Materese, who focuses on the victims of a disaster, and never the perpetrators (when there is a human one). Her research is thorough and storytelling is engaging without glorifying violence. She tells the stories we should all know, and acknowledges the victims who deserve to be remembered.

One of the few podcasts that I support financially. Every episode is a topic of interest for me. I enjoy Jennifer's enthusiasm for detail. This podcast is a well researched exploration of historical disasters. So happy there is no episode time limit here - she is a great storyteller.Read full review »
