(Slow clap building to a roar) Thank you for your recent after-show focusing on the mental health component of the artists and humans we all roam with. Your placement of “crazy” being relative to the ages, and applied in a way that communicates “chaos” vs a mental health reference is helping...Read full review »

I finally got a joke after listening to a few shows ready. Lots of levels to your podcast and I can only imagine the work he must put into it. I hope you eventually get enough listeners to be able to make it a full-time gig

Could be interesting, but it’s really hard to listen to the host’s voice as it trails off and is almost inaudible at the end of each sentence. Makes it very difficult to listen to.

I love love love this podcast. Familiar fascinating stories, but told with insight and details I’ve not heard anywhere else! I’m addicted!

I love listening to this lighthearted storytelling podcast. Jake has great voice for narrating and his back ground in music for scoring the show is intoxicating. Great for listening everywhere even if trying to relax and fall asleep

Just wanted to say great work! The last episode on the Son of Sam makes great use of a high pitch sound that really drives the mental state of Burkowitz. Fantastic show. Most definitely worth a listen and subscription.

Jake is a wonderful storyteller. I’ve learned so much about artist and actors that I thought I knew. This is my go-to podcast to workout to or go walking— by far!

This podcast was a good idea but it’s so hard to follow almost like this is supposed to be a YouTube video, I also don’t care if you could buy the song or not just get to the point, this podcast could be so much better.

Just subbed a month because I love your style of podcasts. Now it seems your just sponging the money with nothing new. Buyers beware.

Great idea for a podcast. Great stories and well written. The dramatic and affected voice is annoying and unnecessary.

Very off putting conclusions drawn about Charles Manson’s music. Going to tread carefully around a mind capable of that sort of thinking. Will listen other episodes based on subject matter. Jake is a hack journalist though. That’s clear.

Great topics, but manic delivery with a gravelly voice ruins it for me.

I’ve been listening since season 1. Was one of my favorite podcasts. Now it’s all rewinds and after party episodes. The best new episodes are now behind a pay wall.

Too hard to listen to with music in the background.

It feels lazy to just keep putting out “rewinds”. If there isn’t new content, stop spamming us. I was a fan of all the Double Elvis shows so all the “rewinds” are exhausting

I was really excited when I discovered this podcast, and browsed through all the topics. Then I played the John Denver episode, and battled to listen to his script through stupid music he has playing with it. Rediculous. Just do a podcast mate, the material should speak for itself, you don't...Read full review »

Just listened to the Kobe Bryant episode. Not sure if the host is having a schizophrenic break. Either way the show has diverged enough from its roots that’s it is no longer for me.

Jake is so talented and his story telling skills are off the charts. Not many people can tell stories the way Jake does. To put the icing on the cake, these are stories about legends. Just because he tells a story about a legend you don't like you're gonna hate? lOL. As Jake reminds us,...Read full review »

The contents of this podcast are produced by an individual lacking journalistic integrity, relying heavily on obscene, salacious, and fabricated sources authored by similarly unscrupulous writers. This is particularly evident in the episode centered on Steve McQueen, where much of the purportedly...Read full review »

The content of this podcast is awesome… if you can hear it. For some bizarre reason, the host whispers much of the show.

It’s a well produced pod. And the guy is really talented. But the podcast is basically a summary of the Wikipedia page. Kind of annoying, but I keep listening regardless. Anyway check out Cocaine and Rhinestones if this is too basic for you.

I found you from your Anthony Bourdain episode. I loved him, looked up to him. and thought of him, who he was, and how he lived almost as a superhero for those that shared and lived in an “all in” way- as I too share(d) some of his worst habits. Agree with other reviewers that this is the BEST… hugely entertaining. I’ve been binging this podcast and Badlands ever since I came across Jake Brennan on another podcast. The writing and delivery are so good! Keep up the great work Mr. Brennan!!
