This is a great podcast, but I'm super bummed to learn that we won't get to hear it unless we use Amazon. I guess this is the end. 😢 It was a good run though. Good luck at Amazon.Read full review »

My brother just turned me into your podcast. I’m about 5 episodes in and really enjoying it. Motley Crue and Ice T were excellent. Can’t wait to listen to more. Keep them coming

I give you 5 stars because it's a great podcast. Look, Eminem made great music whether you're into it or not. It's pretty gross in hindsigt. That is all. I'm a year and change behind in listening by the way. Thank My Favorite Murder for me even finding this great podcast.Read full review »

After every episode I find myself constantly googling more information on what I just heard. That’s when you know it’s good stuff! I’d like to hear an episode on Syd Barrett. That’d be cool..

From the hosts whiney voice to the ugly music, listen to the John Denver episode (if you can get through it !) just utter drivel...

Oh my word I could listen to Jake read the dictionary. Always a treat, what a voice. And Payne my sweet Georgia grandkid who kicked butt in Oscilla. What a mix.

I just discovered this podcast yesterday and I have been binge listening ever since. I love it! It reminds me of VH1 Confidential and Behind the Music back in the day.

Hmmm 6 minutes into a 40 min podcast of blah blah and ads. Ok. About to bounce out. But I wanted to hear the show about Chet Baker. Kinda hard to relate to this podcast if you aren’t a musician on drugs. I give up.

Season 1 and 2 were amazing, but it seems to have lost its flow and doesn’t really land like it used too. Might be time to do the elvis episode

The hosts delivery of podcasts is on point. I started this podcast listening to the Cardi B episode and wound up in endless fits of laughter. I’m addicted and dread the day I finish all the episodes.

So from the new year I can only listen to disgraceland on amazon music?! I won’t be listening then!

I’m a huge fan and always looked forward to new episodes (I’ve relistened a bunch of episodes multiple times) but was super disappointed when you announced the switch to Amazon when you do switch sadly I won’t hear that voice again

Was a fan until he announced the plan to go exclusive with Amazon music. Sellout

I’ve always been a big fan of music. Considering the different types of people that are covered makes it really interesting. One of my favorite podcasts.

This is a pretty good podcast, but would be a whole lot better with some of the music from the bands in the stories. The shtick about not being able to afford it is getting old, especially when there was an advertisement about a podcast music app for affordable clips in some of the episodes! ...Read full review »

I love listening to this podcast, especially since I've been cov19 housebound. HOWEVER, I would take some of the gritty details with a grain of salt. Not sure where the writers get their info from but fact checking is not their strong suit. For example: the Rick James episode....as crazy and...Read full review »

The host is great, the subject matter is compelling and the combination of the two makes for an explosive podcast. Can’t wait to hear more. Updated September 2020: still enjoyable, but the new partnership will mean the end of my listening. Using multiple platforms to listen gets cumbersome. ...Read full review »

Such a great great pod. Jake tells some truly disgraceful stories even (especially) about artists he loves. Sound is a major part of a good podcast to me, and from the background score to the sound effects this one has it down to perfection. Highly recommend this one.

music, true crime, drugs, sex, Rock’n’Roll, good storytelling... This has everything I love! Awesome podcast.

Been listening to Disgraceland since season 1. It just keeps getting better. I prefer all of his podcasts over music when I’m in my car. I hate that they do not come out more often but the wait makes them even better. Jake captivates me through the entire show. I love the original music. My...Read full review »

I listen to a lot of podcasts and I think Jake Brennan might be one of the best storytellers I've encountered in the medium. Even stories I'm deeply familiar with he makes compelling. The way he weaves the tales get you on the edge of your seat.Read full review »

The episode about John Denver is slanderous. I used to listen to this podcast fairly often until I heard the John Denver episode, I believed everything at first, then did a little fact checking. They literally got all their info on John Denver from some conspiracy theory website.

Sensationalistic and exploitative. The narration is also too aloof for me.

Great podcast that is extremely well produced, amazing narration and almost unbelievably insane stories! A little creative license is well used to put you in the mind of the characters.

I usually don’t like 100% scripted shows. So many of them just feel like a 4th grader reading their book report. For those short of shoes, though the information is compelling, the delivery kind of messes it up. Not this show, dude. It reads for sure, but it reads like beat poetry. I was listening to the 27 club Jim Morrison show and heard him talk about this show. Glad he did because this a great! Nice to know I’ve got a few weeks of shows to catch up on. The Jerry Lewis episode was pretty bad a**

Jake has the smoothest voice of any podcasters I have ever heard. This podcast was my introduction to podcasts a few years ago. Have been listening to this podcast for a year and recently listened to the one about John Denver and nearly believed it. Felt incredibly stupid but I guess that goes to show how good (and persuasive) this podcast is!
snizzyizzy via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/12/20
Such a great idea for a podcast, such horrible execution. Host should speak in his normal voice, the over affected tone he takes here is obnoxious and makes listening tough. The writing is also...questionable. I really wish this pod could be redone better

I am new to listening to podcast. DISGRACELAND and the 27 CLUB have been a great blend of story telling and talking about a subject that I thoroughly enjoy, MUSIC! Keep up the good work and looking forward to the rest of the podcast!

Super interesting stories, but just scratching on the surface. Love music and the idea behind it but narrator often seems sexist against women and has kinda “cheesy” made-up dialogue between characters and musicians

Wow! I love true crime and I love music so when I found this podcast, I was happy. After listening to host, writer, composer Jake Brennan, I’m pretty freaking ecstatic. This really is a must listen. DISGRACELAND is a show that is entertaining, informative, interesting and not to be missed.
