This show disrupted my podcast queue
After the first episode, I moved the entire catalog up and binge-listened them all. Disrupting Japan showcases interesting guests with innovative ideas illuminated by Tim's pointed insights and put into context with his business experience. And the show is punctuated by humor and entertaining cultural nuggets. My favorite part is Tim's regular monologue episodes that are eye-opening. Or ear-opening, rather. Brain-opening? Even if you have no interest in doing business in Japan, there are lessons to be learned here. Japan is ahead in its region so its economic history can be used in some ways as a roadmap for its neighbors. And demographically, the way Japan treats its elders (through products, technology, services, and policy) will be an important case study for nations also experiencing a shrinking and ageing population. If that kind of insight is useful to you, Disrupting Japan puts your finger on the pulse of Japan's emerging startup community.Read full review »
