“I’ve been listening since the beginning and wanted to give the host plenty of time to improve, but it’s not happening. I believe the host writes her own scripts, but it sounds like she’s reading something aloud for the very first time. The pace of the reading is too fast and the rhythm being frequently off from natural speech patterns is jarring. I don’t mind a monotone voice, but it doesn’t flow well when you add jokes or quips to the script and then read them with the same flat inflection as the rest. I’m not looking for expert skills, I often enjoy unpolished podcasts more than the over-produced wondery-like stuff, but the rhythm and pacing issues the host has are frustrating to listen to.”
