Good, but could be way better
I want to start off by saying I’ve been a fan of Caroline’s YouTube channel a long time and was excited when she announced her podcast. I’ve been listening to a ton of podcasts recently so I was excited to have a brand new one from one of my favorite creators. Personally, I listen to all sorts of podcasts and enjoy listening to NPR and stuff, but I think Caroline and Philip could be a lucrative investment for advertisers since they appeal to the teen market (I’m a freshmen in high school), who mostly wouldn’t care about a lot of the popular podcasts right now. Moving on; as much as like the idea of the podcast, I didn’t really like the podcast itself. I understand that after just two episodes, a podcast is still figuring out its footing and what it wants to be, so here is what I would like to see in the future as they continue to grow and evolve -Make it shorter: aim for between 20 and 30 minutes, cut out anything that isn’t funny or entertaining; personally, I wasn’t listening so I could hear them talk about influencers buying things they can’t afford for ten minutes. I was just looking for an extension of Caroline’s YouTube channel, and I assume that’s a sentiment shared by most of the podcasts audience. -Give it structure: Caroline and Philip were already adjusting to this in the second episode by moving the FeMail segment, the only real part of the podcast to the beginning . I suggest they start every episode with some theme music, maybe similar to the Elon Musk rap from the end of some of Caroline’s older YouTube videos, but around the theme of Dont Be Ugly. Introduce yourself and do some banter. The thing about French and the rent controlled shadow was the only part I really liked in everything I’ve listened to so far (The whole first episode, and 18 minutes into the second), so probably do more like that, and keep mixing in funny sidebars like that throughout the show. Next, give a funny answer to whatever the FeMail caller has to say. It’s okay to break character now and then, but remember it’s now why most of your listeners are here. -Maybe put the video version of the podcast on the official Caroline Ricke channel as well- it already has a ton of subscribers, use that to your advantage. They subscribed because they like you and want to see more of you. I really hope someone who works on the show will see it and take my comments into consideration because I spent like 40 on this review hahaha. I hope my review didn’t seem mean, I wrote it and still gave five stars because I want to see you guys succeed.
