A series worth returning too
Doubleshare is fourth book in the series which started with quarter share. The series follows Ishmael as he coped with being forced off planet then excelled at commercial space freight and all the personal drama of life shipping out for months at a time. This series is like a gift basket, someone put a lot of thought into what went into the basket - and you mysteriously find yourself coming back to it for treats for days. In this book the main Character and narrator Ishmael Horato Wong has just Graduated college and a after a little nostalgia to backfill the story and changes to date, he sets off for his first berth as third mate on the solar clipper starship "William-Tinker". Due to Ishmael's good grounding as crew on the smooth running solar clipper starship Louis-McKendrick before starting his studies, he realises something is very strange when he arrives. In form true to character he manages to make the most of what might seen to be minor opportunities and eventually turn around bad circumstances. The plot and people seem well developed and refreshingly whole so equally this journey is as insightful as the previous "share" books.
