I have listened to this series many times over the years. In this hectic world filled with negatives and just so much STUFF going on, this series just helps me settle and recover. It is easy to get lost in this “future” and relate to the life and struggles of Ishmael. He is a beacon to help us...Read full review »

Haven’t we all been in a situation where we wished for a voice of reason? Loved how the main character has been growing up in the series. Could not stop listening. And the end had me on the edge of my chair wondering what the author was going to do. I would love to buy this author dinner as a...Read full review »

My boyfriend showed this series to me and it’s really caught my interest. Lowell has a fantastic way of building characters and suspense with this series, and this book in particular has been supremely interesting. Watching the main character grow and support other is entertaining to listen to,...Read full review »

I listened to the first two books and throughly enjoyed the immersive building of the charters and their environments. The author is fantastic at creating dialog and interactions. This book has everything the first two books have plus an even more powerful story. Thank you for creating this,...Read full review »

A bit dark, but was a really good book. It would have been too much for me if all of the books would have been this style.

Nathan’s way with words are simply captivating

This book is a little darker than the first two because Ishmael is in an evil place. That puts a little bit of a downer on the story, however it also creates some conflict that had been missing before this installment. I still enjoyed listening to it immensely. I am totally hooked.

This is a review of the series up until Captain's Share. Thus giving you a better idea on why you should perhaps invest your time in it. As opposed to just giving you impressions on the first: This is a story about NOT Captain Kirk, or Picard, or Sisco, or Archer, or...Instead, continuing the...Read full review »

This whole series is amazing make sure you check out Nathan's other books as they can tie in together in a sneaky way and if you spot it, it will make you smile

darker tone than the first three books, which may make its subject matter uncomfortable for some. despite that still a top notch read if you can get through it.

So far I have listened to the first 4 bools and I hate it when they end. The characters are written so well they become real and you genuinely feel for them and what they are going through. I can’t wait to read more of these books and other books by this author. He has a wonderful gift of story...Read full review »

Great job! , Nathan Lowell you get better and better with every episode. You make the book come alive with your descriptive writting.

This carries on a beautifully written set of stories. I've said before that Nathan Lowell has a way of dealing with some difficult and sensitive subjects that is touch, thoughtful and almost gentle, this is even truer with this instalment. The teenage boy Ishmael Wang has become a young man with...Read full review »

I kept forgetting to leave a review. I was not aware that the story had several titles or books as it were. I accidently started with the next book in the series "captains share" it was obviousley a great story or i never would have gone back to the beginning and on to listen to all of...Read full review »

Another story of Ishmael, now fresh out of the academy. As a brandnew 3rd officer he is up for a challenge. In a ship with a disfunctional captain and first mate he has to try to get the crew functioning as a whole, not an easy task. Once again Nathan has written a book that wil keep you up...Read full review »

Nathan is an expert story-teller, not only are his characters and stories rich and detailed, but his readings are so realistic it's like listening to a play. Double share unarguably has the most action of the traders tales but is still in keeping with the spirit of the characters? I'm in my...Read full review »

Four years have passed since the end of the previous book and this one and Ishmael is back in the deep dark on a new ship with a new crew...and what a crew it is. This book was very good with a lot of the spirit of the earlier books in the series. I found myself rooting for Ishmael, as usual....Read full review »

This is the best of the Trader Tales so far. The characters are varied and well-developed. There is action, humor, angst, and an engaging plot. The biggest difficulty we found was to refrain from just listening straight through. Thank you Mr. Lowell.
