Disorienting, bite-size entertainment for the mini-commute
After listening all through, the plot feels like a SparkNotes mixup of late-90s sci-fi classics like “The Core” and “Sphere” and “The Abyss” with a dash of Dante Alighieri for philosophical seasoning. Enjoyable and well produced, but a tad derivative — and confusing in its episodic format.

More reviews of Down
Unfortunately, this show gets tiresome. It should be half as many episodes. They needed a good editor. Could have benefited from a better ear for dialogue, richer characterization, and stronger, more definitive plot points. Got annoying, and so I’ve stopped listening.

Interesting concept but the writing and acting are poor. All rather wooden. The Captain, in particular, is a very cliched and incredibly irritating character. Such a shame as there’s not much fiction worth listening to in podcast form.
