Great but has problems (big spoilers)
very good story and interesting characters, but it lacked some depth (no pun intended). The characters didn’t have much beyond their initial role and the hole thing with Marion’s brother felt tacked on. The ending was a bit confusing and anticlimactic, with a lot of questions still unanswered. I would have liked to know what happened afterwards, what the ghost fish venom was actually for, (I think it was unnecessary to include the bit about the “parasite” as it was totally misleading and didn’t contribute to the plot at all, I think it should have just killed him and left it at that). And maybe we could have a little more info on the whole multiverse thing, even if the creature had said something as simple as “I am a multidimensional being, feeding off of every version of you that has ever existed”, I would be pretty satisfied. Overall, I’m not a professional critic, I’m just giving my opinion and I think this show was pretty good for the most part.

More reviews of Down
Creepy, toungue-in-cheek British-Antarctic subterranean drama. Tight storytelling about a submarine exploring a hole under the melting Antarctic ice. Anything could be down there. Anything - plus bickering humans.

Interesting concept but the writing and acting are poor. All rather wooden. The Captain, in particular, is a very cliched and incredibly irritating character. Such a shame as there’s not much fiction worth listening to in podcast form.

For the most part, I enjoyed this story. The plot and pacing were excellent, with some similarities to Event Horizon with good twists throughout. The characters are mostly a very strong part of this drama, are all well voice acted, and well written, going through excellent character growth...Read full review »
