Mostly a slam dunk
For the most part, I enjoyed this story. The plot and pacing were excellent, with some similarities to Event Horizon with good twists throughout. The characters are mostly a very strong part of this drama, are all well voice acted, and well written, going through excellent character growth throughout…except for Marion, who is one of the biggest weak points of this drama. Her VA is excellent, but it’s hard to work with a character whose arrogant, moralizing, self justifying, condescending, attitude is compounded by the fact she’s apparently never wrong, or at least unable to be called out by her fellow crew, and even when facing her own “demons”, she apparently has already squared that away long ago. I’ve thought long about this, and she goes through NO character growth throughout the entire drama, which makes her very difficult to like, and the weakest point in this audio drama, in addition to some minor complaints about the music, which is easily ignorable.

More reviews of Down
Creepy, toungue-in-cheek British-Antarctic subterranean drama. Tight storytelling about a submarine exploring a hole under the melting Antarctic ice. Anything could be down there. Anything - plus bickering humans.

What starts as a simple adventure escalated quickly into danger and...Read full review »
